Jewelry is very beautiful because it is an expression pf people’s creativity and their personality. Many art majors in college have taken a jewelry making course. I am a big art fan and I love art history and going to museums. In addition, I have taken a ceramics course but a have never made jewelry for myself or for someone else. Captive bead rings are popular body piercing jewelry because they are practical and convenient. For instance, the bead is held in place so securely that it is difficult for it to fall out, yet it is quite easy to remove. The wearer simply removes it, preferably with ring opening pliers. Because captive bead rings are held in place so securely and the bead protects the ends of the ring, they do not easily snag clothing, hair, or furniture. Thus, they are very popular choices for those who have newly created and healing piercings. To avoid infection at the piercing site, bead wearers should thoroughly wash their hands with soap and hot water during the bead insertion and removal processes. (more…)

The placement of that ring produces a minimum of pain, because it requires no clamp or staple. Clamps and staples remained unknown to the people who first started decorating themselves with the captive bead ring. The following paragraphs should offer the reader new information about the origin of the captive bead ring. That information might cause the reader to wonder whether or not the mutineers from the Bounty ever saw a man or woman wearing a bead ring.
